“Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.”
Isaiah 40:28
I love this verse!
I love the expression before the content,
like it is breaking news!
We do grow weary.
Some days we have to plow through mud
just to get to the end of the day.
“I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint”.
Jeremiah 31:25
Jesus’ humanity did grow tired and weary,
but knowing what His mission was
He did not give in or give up for our sakes.
“Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus,
tired from the long walk,
sat wearily beside the well about noontime”
John 4:6
He knows our weaknesses.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,
let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin
that so easily entangles,
and let us run with endurance the race set out for us.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus,
the author and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy set before Him endured the cross,
scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners,
so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
Hebrews 12:1-3
