“How sweet are Your words to my taste— sweeter than honey in my mouth!” Psalm 119:103
“The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever;
the judgments of the LORD are true, being altogether righteous.
They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.
By them indeed Your servant is warned; in keeping them is great reward.”
Psalm 19:10-11
My oldest dog is nearly blind, and yesterday,
rather than pick him up to bring him inside,
I nudged him when he veered off in the wrong direction.
It startled him a bit because he couldn’t see it coming.
I was immediately reminded of how God shows us
we are sheep and He is the Shepherd.
He herds us on the path that is safe and keeps us within the fence to protect us from the enemy.
We are off on our way and suddenly we are startled by something
that moves us off the path we were happy to be on.
That can cause us to get angry or deeply disappointed.
We may pray for that door to be opened,
all the while our Father in heaven knows what we do not.
We cannot see what is ahead but He does.
He is faithful to keep us safe as we yield to His ways, His Word, His commandments.
“Your words were found, and I ate them.
Your words became my joy and my heart’s delight.
For I bear Your name, O LORD God of Hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16
“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!” Psalm 34:8
I also awoke with a song on my heart which I will link below.
I put songs here because when we sing His Word,
it stirs faith and becomes a weapon against the enemy.
Lord, I love You, Your Word, I worship You and adore You.
Keep me on Your path.
Stir up my faith to stand on Your promises
and not lean into my own plans, paths and understanding.
Let me never forget Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

I was also singing “Jesus I am so in love with you” from the song “Let My Words Be Few” Matt Redman we had earlier this week. I encourage you to pop the songs together into a playlist for your week.
