“Whatever you do,
work at it with your whole being,
for the Lord and not for men,
because you know that you will receive an inheritance
from the Lord as your reward.”
Do you love what you do?
At times can it be complicated?
“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord,
beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.”
God places us with people to mold our character.
We can look at them and identify all that they may be doing wrong,
but God asks us to look at ourselves.
“For with the same judgment you pronounce,
you will be judged;
and with the measure you use,
it will be measured to you.
Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye,
but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?
How can you say to your brother,
‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’
while there is still a beam in your own eye?”
It is easy to fall into the temptation to gossip,
grumble and complain especially at work.
“The mind governed by the flesh is death,
but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”
God gives us a choice always to make our decision on how we live.
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today
that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing.
Therefore choose life, so that you and your descendants may live,
and that you may love the LORD your God,
obey Him, and hold fast to Him.”
To serve others as Jesus did, to live humbly and in peace
is a choice we can all make.
The fruits of our labor will be great.
“A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold.”
How do you want to live?
How do you want to be known?
Lord, it is hard at times to not be distracted
by unfair circumstances, cruel punishments
and lies others spread.
Help us to keep our eyes on You,
to lean on You as our defender and not ourselves.
Let us learn to serve with JOY no matter what we are doing and to bless all in our path.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
