Day 29 Lent Devotions

 

“On that day,

let no one on the housetop come down

to retrieve his possessions.

Likewise, let no one in the field

return for anything he has left behind.

Remember Lot’s wife!

Whoever tries to save his life

will lose it,

but whoever loses his life

will preserve it”

. Luke 17:32-33

“But Lot’s wife looked back,

and she became a pillar of salt.”

Genesis 19:26

“Then Jesus told His disciples,

“If anyone wants to come after Me,

he must deny himself

and take up his cross

and follow Me.

For whoever wants to save his life

will lose it,

but whoever loses his life for My sake

will find it.

What will it profit a man

if he gains the whole world,

yet forfeits his soul?

Or what can a man give

in exchange for his soul?”

Matthew 24:26

“The expression on their faces

testifies against them,

Isaiah3:0-11

Our battles are the Lord’s battles.

We do not stand alone.

“Remain in Me,

and I will remain in you.

Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself

unless it remains in the vine,

neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.

I am the vine and you are the branches.

The one who remains in Me, and I in him,

will bear much fruit.

For apart from Me you can do nothing.

If anyone does not remain in Me,

he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers.

Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned”
