Day 32 Lent Devotion

“Still I am certain to see

the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

Wait patiently for the LORD;

be strong and courageous.

Wait patiently for the LORD!”

Psalm 27:13-14

How often do you find yourself

trying to help God solve your problems?

Perhaps things aren’t moving fast enough for you?

I can go back through my life

and see all of the things I thought were

first, so important,

and second, that maybe God

just needed me to do something about.

It is hard to know sometimes.

Is God asking me

to take an action

or is it just me wanting to take on His job?

Worry begins to creep in to replace trust.

Fear begins to creep in to replace faith.

“So do not worry about tomorrow;

for tomorrow will care for itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:34

When things seem to be crumbling

around us and we think God isn’t concerned…

“And we know

that God causes all things to work

together for good

to those who love God,

to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Romans 8:28

Waiting means trusting

that God really is concerned for what concerns me.

“Trust in the Lord

with all your heart

And do not lean on your own understanding.”

Proverbs 3:5

All I know in times like this to do

is pray.

Pray for guidance,

His will,

to hear His voice

and the patience to wait on Him.

“Since ancient times no one has heard,

no ear has perceived,

no eye has seen any God besides you,

who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.”

Isaiah 64:4

“I would have lost heart,

unless I had believed

That I would see the goodness of the Lord

In the land of the living.

Wait on the Lord;

Be of good courage,

And He shall strengthen your heart;

Wait, I say, on the Lord!”

Psalm 27:13-14

Don’t lose heart,

God is good

and He will strengthen you.
