“but the one who did not know it and did things worthy of a beating, will receive only a few [lashes]. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.” Proverbs 12:48
As we enter the season of Lent, we remember Jesus life leading up to His death and thankfully His resurrection. I have been impacted by this Scripture in the past few weeks.
God is not speaking of earthly possessions in this Scripture but of the gifts He has given us.
The special message that He has given each of us to share that boasts about His Kingdom and is a witness to a dying and hopeless world.
I have known for years that I am to share and I do off and on, but I am weak and selfish with my time and talents. I worry about being vulnerable and leaving it all out on the table on the internet or in a book.
But Jesus laid his entire life out on a cross for us all. Everything was required of Him to pay our debt.
His call was this
“Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and its works will be laid bare.” 2 Peter 3:8-10
He did not want even ONE to perish.
Help us Lord to be the message and light and love to the world that You have sewn into our being, each to share as we have been gifted. In Jesus name.
