Let me warn you, this week may be overwhelming because I love to shop. I did my best to simply stay within the party supply boundaries because believe me, there is so much more you can indulge in. But I will leave that for another week! Let’s dive in.

There are so many ways to go with your Kentucky Derby Party Supplies. You can simply pick a color theme and purchase napkins, plates, cups, etc. in those colors and make or order a few special focal pieces to hone in on the Kentucky Derby. Or you can go all out ordering the official 144th Kentucky Derby licensed party supplies.
Kentucky Derby Paper Products
Even if you do a more formal dinner service, having paper plates for appetizers or desserts will add some color and flair as well as help in the clean up.
For the real deal, highlighting this year’s race you can order this dramatic and bold color featuring the roses and towers and the official logo of the 144th Kentucky Derby. This set includes beverage napkins, luncheon napkins, dinner plates and dessert plates and cups for 24 guests.
This set works year after year, so if you have an annual Kentucky Derby party you can save your extra plates and napkins featuring the track, horses and jockeys in action.
I love this runner and it is paper!
I can imagine all sorts of ideas for using these little trophies. If you are using name plates for seating, you could print up something and set it up to be coming out of the trophy. What would you use this for?
Your Kentucky Derby Bar
We set up our mint julep bar and used two other classic Kentucky Derby recipes that I will share in our Southern Fare part of this series. Our guests loved the drinks. I purchased quite a few of these items to make our bar a real part of the party.
These gold horse shoe food picks can be used to add fruit or olives to your drinks or to skewer some cheese, sausage and olives to go with those drinks.
This stir stick looks great in your Sweet Tea with a punch and other cocktails.
Another stir stick solution with color that dresses up your Kentucky Derby drinks.
This is stunning and really tops the bottles in true Kentucky Derby fashion. If you are giving prizes for contests or games, this might be an excellent choice for your guests.
I love these and while they last, you can purchase them in sets at a reduced price. Obviously a future collectable if the Kentucky Derby is something you like to have collections for. We bought several versions of glasses. There is one with all of the horses listed on it that we used as a prize for our guests and served drinks out of the set we purchased.
You must have Mint Julep cups! I read the reviews on these and they were mixed. I purchased them and am very pleased. They are a little large for a true mint julep, but we just added lots of ice. These were the hit of the party.
TIP: Buy plenty of mint from the nursery to use because it costs less and you will find that it is hard to find enough to make your drinks that day. You will also thrill your guests as you cut fresh mint for them right before their eyes.
Kentucky Derby Table and Ceiling Accents
I love to bring out the silver or silver-plate for my Kentucky Derby Party. I have a wine bucket that resembles a trophy cup that I fill with red roses for my center piece and then all of the southern delights are set up for the guests to enjoy. I love to have it set up on a white cloth and dress that up with this incredible confetti. It adds sparkle and such great detail to the backdrop of the food.
Can you over decorate? I don’t know about that when you are throwing this kind of party. Lots of people, probably using both the inside and outside of your home. So wherever you can add a touch of color and fun is probably only going to enhance your atmosphere. These type of items are happy and inexpensive.
Kentucky Derby Party Streamers
We had lots of lawn games set up for our party and some around the pool, so we used these banners between fence posts to direct people to move further out into our yard. We also had some balloons at each end of them.
I love this streamer. This would be great hanging across the place where you are going to watch the races and is less than $9!
Derby banners everywhere! Hang this Kentucky Derby race day banner outside and it will be blowing in the wind and your guests will get the feel that they are actually at track!
This is your typical racing streamer. Simple and iconic.
Another great banner to hang across one of your food tables or over a door way.
Kentucky Derby Door and Wall Decor
I am not sure if this is the door banner I purchased last year, but I did buy one and cover my door. There was no mistake which home was having the party with my flag and door banner in the front yard!
A high quality embroidered garden flag to let your neighbors know you are hosting the party.
Kentucky Derby Photo Booth Drops & Props
Photo booths have become a tradition at our parties ever since we purchased one of those with the holes to pop your head through at one of my kids graduation parties. Now they have so much more you can add.
I love the props. You would think people might be too shy to use them, but our experience has been just the opposite. It is a great way to get past that awkward posing for pictures moment. People grab something and just seem to ham it up more.
Here is another props kit that is fantastic!
I purchased at least one back drop for our party and of the three below, I want to say I did the one with the crowd which may be the least Kentucky Derby look of them all. These work great to give you that background for a good photo.
A Family Affair
If it is a family affair that you are hosting, be sure to have some ideas for the little ones that will make them feel a part of the event.
Other Kentucky Derby Party Supplies You Can’t Live Without
These are win, place and show tickets. They come in a pack of 200 so I still have lots left over from last year. I really didn’t want to get into the betting scenario, so I simply used them as decor on my tables.
If you want to make your own great confections, here is a cut out for a horse shoe! I am not one to have the time to do much baking since I make all of my own appetizers and dinner, I simply purchased my Kentucky Derby desserts. But this is a great idea if you want to bake.Kentucky Derby Horse Shoe cookie cutter www.yourhomeyourhappyplace.com
I simply have to stop. I warned you! I could just go on and on, but if you check out these links you will run across some of the items that I did not include anyway, so pick what suits you best.
