2020 A Year That We Would Never Have Believed Could Have Happened
Lots of great things did actually happen in 2020 but it was most definitely overshadowed by being told what we could or couldn’t do as well as living in a fearful state.
We survived Covid. Glad we had it and are done with it. But we have really let our diet go since getting sick.
Keto For Health
I originally went Keto back in March of 2019 for weight loss but I quickly discovered the health benefits of living a keto lifestyle and committed to it. It was not difficult for me especially since it complimented my gluten sensitivity and kept me gluten free.
I have tons of recipe books from keto authors that I will review in an upcoming blog. More often than not, I simply go to YouTube and get a recipe if I am looking for something specific.
My results for weight loss were not normal even with intermittent fasting or OMAD. But today I think I figured that out.
Macros Matter
Today I tried to go keto and I utilized a tool that told me what my macros should be for my age, height, weight, etc. What I realized today was that because I had never done my macros before I never had gotten enough fat in my diet! I always wondered why I did not experience the weight loss that others had and why my blood ketones were rarely above 1.0.

My fat calculated to over 100 grams and I ate a salad with 5 olives, each olive was 1 gram and the dressing was 3 grams. So a long way to go to get to my fat macros! I ate some cheese and then ended the night with two tablespoons of peanut butter just to get close.
I’m adding keto coffee in the morning to get a great start with my fats!
Keto Soup Fast
Looking through some of my favorite Keto bloggers I decided to use I Breathe I’m Hungry’s 5 day soup diet and see what happens just to get a great start. But I will have been doing keto for a few days before starting it. . If you care to join me, leave a comment in the box and let’s see what happens. I will begin this diet on January 5th. I’ll drop a video in as we begin.

Do you have any other resets you are considering for this new year?
I have a few:
I really know I need to give up the diet soda. Not super difficult but it is like a comfort food for me at times.
Just want to work in some mini exercise daily. I have an app I am going to try.
That with the keto diet is three things and that is enough. I am going to look at other options every six weeks to see if I am able to add another new habit or get rid of one.
