Day 20 Lent Devotion

“In his hand

is the life of every creature

and the breath of all mankind.”

Job 12:10

Today as Spring approaches

we see proof that God does not change.

Like a clock that goes from hour to hour,

God keeps the seasons and the sunrises in check.

Let’s reflect on the power and nature of God.

“Let the heavens rejoice,

let the earth be glad;

let the sea resound,

and all that is in it.

Let the fields be jubilant,

and everything in them;

let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.”

Psalm 26:11-12

God has ultimate control.

“Many are the plans in the mind of a man,

but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”

Proverbs 19:21

There is no one above or equal to our God.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities

—his eternal power and divine nature—

have been clearly seen,

being understood from what has been made,

so that people are without excuse.”

Romans 1:20

“The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Day after day they pour forth speech;

night after night they display knowledge.

There is no speech or language

where their voice is not heard.”

Psalm 19:1

In the midst of doubt, stress,

and all other feelings and emotions that bring your heart down,

lift up your voice in praise and it will flee!

“You turned my mourning into dancing;

You peeled off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,

that my heart may sing Your praises and not be silent”

Psalm 30:11-12

“Worthy are You, our Lord and our God,

to receive glory and honor and power;

for You created all things,

and because of Your will they existed, and were created. “

Revelation 4:11

Lord, we hear so much going on in the world

that is not glorifying to you.

It is dark and evil.

Give us Your perspective

and keep our eyes, hearts, and minds focused on You.
