Are you looking for an answer?
What have you tried?
- Called or texted a friend?
- “googled” it?
- read a book?
- watched a youtube video?
What did I miss?
Sometimes we don’t realize that we are looking for that answer at that moment because it seems to have been a while since we looked and nothing has come of our inquest.
I’d like to share my experience this morning which served as a HUGE reminder to me that my answers are often much closer than I think.
It’s been quite some time since I published…not wrote in my biog. I have plenty of “almost ready to publish” posts.
I’ve started many posts over the past year and a half, but it just seemed like it was not the right time to bounce back in to blogging.
Before stopping I had at least 2, if not more, facebook groups I managed and had a great team of blogging buddies that joined in group posts, link parties, and much more. Honestly, I can’t even recall all that I had going on.
Suddenly, I needed out. Not sure why, because it definitely takes a lot of time to build a blog and a presence as well as gather a following for your facebook group. Leaving meant losing contact with friends, and letting go of what I had been working for and on for several years.
I gave notice to all and shut down my groups. I left Facebook…if that is even possible, not! Because today I had to rejoin in order to use a new feature in Instagram. UGH!
Suddenly with all this time freed up…if you are a blogger or YouTuber, you know what I mean…I started thinking about a part-time job. Nothing to do with funds, because it would be minimum wage, but something to reconnect with real “in the flesh” people!
Got one. I loved it. But this is not the subject of this posts, so I’ll talk about it another time.
Lots of things were going on, as in all of our lives. I was experiencing so many great blogging subjects, but… (see quote)
Studies have shown that some of the greatest stressors in our lives that could cause breakdowns in our health, mentally or physically, come with
- the death of a loved one…check,
- a move…check,
- a new job…check,
- another move…check.
It was the perfect time to mourn and grieve in my own way and remember to stay in the moment with my life.
There is a time for everything,
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
Blogging never left my mind or heart. The idea of it has been stirring in me for so long to come back. Not only to come back, but to launch my youtube channels. Don’t think I haven’t tried. I have more videos waiting to publish than I have blog posts. However, something always happens technically and they never go up.
Joy Comes in the Morning…
After a time of worship, praise, and prayer this morning, I am hoping for a different outcome when I attempt to publish.
I awoke early with a headache…a tad before 5am. After taking some Excederin, I couldn’t go back to sleep…caffiene assisted, thanks Excederin.
So I got up and began my day, starting some laundry, feeding the pups and grabbing a shower.
I typically turn on youtube videos while I do housework and just listen, but today I decided to let Alexa play “Live Worship” from Pandora. After a few songs, one came on that moved me to dance. I used to be an expressive worship dancer….guess I still am, just don’t have the public platform for it at this time. As the song ended I shut off the music and began to pray.
I am not one to sit and pray. I walk and talk. Around my kitchen island I go just making my requests known, praising and thanking and repenting of my sin.
One of my requests was regarding a Youtube channel that I already have named and has no video content. I have been very reluctant to start it because it comes with responsibility and consequence.
I asked something like “if You want me to begin this, please guide me and equip me.” As wordy as I am, I am sure it was much more but that is the gist of it.
When I was done praying, I felt energized. I went looking for my Bible. I use Biblegateway.com often, however, there are times when
- I want my Bible.
- I want to touch my pages.
- I want to just be led to open to a passage
So I grabbed it, stuck my nail in, and opened up in Matthew. My first thought was “what does Matthew have to say to me, it is just the story of Jesus” and I almost closed it and tried again.
But I didn’t.
I lay my Bible down on the kitchen counter and didn’t look at a heading. I just veered my eyes into one spot and began to read.
I was a little bit astounded. Even though God has spoken to me multiple times in my life, too many to count. It still always amazes me.
I didn’t tell you the name of that Youtube channel with zero video content.
Trump Sounding!
So, is that an answer to a prayer I literally spoke aloud minutes prior?
What do you think?
You know what I think.
Then, really encouraged, I was reminded when I use to make Scripture posts for social media on canva.
I thought, I need a verse of the day.
The words that came to me were:
If they seek Me, they will find Me. If they ask Me, I will Answer.
Now I wasn’t able to find that exact quote in the Bible, which means it is likely different words or a song, but I certainly searched the first part in Biblegateway.com and found this…
If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. …
2 Chronicles 15:32
I felt this was a day of new beginnings and that I needed to push the message out. But only the first part, for now.
I created a graphic. Found that there is now video in canva…who knew? That I was able to post that video on Instagram and away we went.
The Take Away
The next time you are questioning, looking for answers, wondering which road to take in life or how to just get through the night…remember there is someOne Who is always listening. He is just waiting for you to call on His name and ask what you will. Not only does He listen…
He Answers
How long ago had I started that channel and named it? It will be 2 years this coming Jan. Timing is everything! Ecclesiastes says so.
If you do not know Jesus and want to, please leave me a comment. I would love to introduce you. If you do know Jesus, but haven’t talked to Him in a long time, maybe even turned away, if you want to reconnect and recommit, He is waiting for you. Don’t ever forget about the story of the Prodigal Son or the Thief on the Cross. They are both great examples in God’s Word of His heart to all people.
There is only one way.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6
As I began this post, I mentioned that I had been worshipping and that is really key. Take time now. Stop what you think you have to do. Take the next 5 minutes to worship the God Who loves you, Who saves you. I’ll post a link to a song to get your mind off that problem you need answers to and on to the One Who holds the answers you seek.
May you be blessed today.
Debbie
