No Space Is Too Small To Make A Great Office Space
Think you don’t have space for a great office?
This office has great functionality!
Check out the built-in file cabinets, the multiple book shelves, drawers, counter space, cabinets and lighting.
They even managed to add style with the lighted glass shelving.
The rug really grounds the space and pulls it from a desk area to make it feel like a room.
A huge workspace and the cubby looks to be made of a fabric covered cork that allows for sticking up important notes.
I would not feel like I was in a closet in this space even though perhaps it was originally one.
All you need to create a space like this is a call to your local closet organization company, like
Cabinets by Design and they will design to your needs and your space as well as install.
So take a walk around your home and see where you might be able to sneak a creative space for yourself in.

I Don’t Have Space For One, Let Alone Two!
Literally slid this office into the side of a room! I love it. Two large work spaces, separate drawers and shelves and that resting area between the two, making it seem like they aren’t on top of each other.
What I love about this space is the wood trim and the use of color.
Great details in the storage files, rug, window treatment and cushion. I can’t tell but perhaps the desk top is also green.
As a designer, my tastes change on a whim, so I could not commit to the counter top but everything else, amazing ambiance.
The chairs look sharp and comfortable!
This set up looks like a carpenter is needed. But again, built-ins really make your space functional as well as beautiful. The price is not likely as much as you are imagining.
When You Have The Room
Now we are getting into my favorite spaces.
I don’t ever want to stare at a wall no matter how pretty.
I like my desk facing out into the room.
If there is a window nearby all the better!
I love the lighted shelves, the color palette, the light, the window treatment, the comfy chairs and window seat and desk. A great desk gives you space to create!
I also love the rug.
I prefer my office to be a mix of art and books, so this one is a little heavy on tchotchkes.

The desk above looks a lot like a table. I did not find it exactly but I found some beautiful options. Click through the photo for details on that desk and to scroll through more.
Take It To The Top!
I love a designated space for an office where the person is committed to really putting their own stamp on it.
This office is gorgeous to me. The ceiling print and the light fixture provide such drama to what could look like any craft room. This one is memorable!
Great storage. The chunky legs on the table and a huge work space are all pluses.
Plenty of book shelves and drawers included. The room is bright and I would hope that huge window offers a view for the creative to dream as they work here.

This is an interesting print for a ceiling wallpaper.

I can have a lot of favorites and this one is topping my list.
I just told you how much a dramatic ceiling has me and this one does not disappoint. Regardless that I live in the Midwest, I am all about a coastal vibe. As I write at the moment in my.bedroom, I have a Pelican print, shutters, Tommy Bahama furnishings all set in a spa blue room.
This art wall leaves me forgetting what I said earlier about wanting some books. I love every cubby and everything on display. For me, inspiration rides a very high second to functionality. I would just put books somewhere else in this room because this space inspires my creativity.
I have to talk about the wallpapered back to the shelves. I love that. I have used contact paper to accomplish a similar vibe in my basement which I should share with you all before we move.
I think the rug is fabulous, I would just prefer that it was a room size so there was something for my feet too.
I can’t imagine in my life needing two chairs for meetings, so I think a chaise would be perfect for the times I want to stretch out and read or write without sitting straight up.
This office is like being outside! It reminds me of a green house. In fact, it appears that it could have just been added to the room since the roof is made of glass.
Bright, airy, a great desk. A crazy, exciting rug.
I am hoping there is a great storage space hidden, but perhaps this is a simple writing desk off the side of a bedroom.
I actually own one of those guard dogs myself! Drama!
This office makes a statement.
Another dramatic ceiling and the contrast with the entire room painted in such a great blue is simply stunning.
Not only floor to ceiling windows, I think their may be a door too.
Pocket doors, great chairs, the storage is great. My only drawback here is the middle of the bookcase seems like wasted space. This is the perfect spot for a Murphy bed. I will be showing those in an upcoming post.
Does everyone have a secret yearning to be a famous novelist? Or is it just me?
This treasure of an office is what I would imagine for myself when I need a writing retreat. The deadline is looming and I just need to get away from the distractions of my home, off to that secret place where everyone leaves you alone.
Surrounded by the leather and smell of the books and that chair.
An expandable table for research books to pile high and yet have room to work.
What do you think?
So what is your space like? Do you love it? How would you change it if you could?

I am still contemplating what my office space will be in our new home. We have moved it to the loft area to be shared only now and then with guests staying over who may want some private space to watch television or read.
I have not yet decided whether to use my cottage style furniture or go for a writing desk. I am working on my mood board and will share it once I feel like I have settled on the direction which is the first hurdle. The second one will be finding what I want for less should I choose a certain direction.
I hope you stay tuned for that and please share your comments, I truly love to interact with you and hear your dilemmas…they actually give me ideas for future posts. So let me solve your problems by posting them in the comments.
